New Delhi, February 25: An order was issued on Tuesday by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in which 1985-batch IPS officer S.N. Srivastava has been made Special Commissioner Law and Order to take control of the violence in the national capital in which at least 10 civilians and one police constable have died.

Earlier, Srivastava was serving as Special Director General (Training) in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

It is believed that he may also be the next Delhi Police Commissioner as  the tenure of the present Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik is coming to an end later this month.

1985-batch AGMUT cadre police officer S.N. Srivastava has been handling the Special Cell Unit of Delhi Police for a long time and has also done countless encounters. Now it is to see how he overcomes the rioters after taking new command.
