UP ranks 1st in attracting domestic tourists

Lucknow, 28 September: The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has given new wings to the development of tourism in the last four and a half years. With the double increase in the tourism budget, UP has also found the first place in the country in attracting domestic tourists. Not only this, the trend of foreign tourists has also increased towards the state.

From the point of view of spiritual, social, historical and natural places, UP has made a new identity not only in the country but also in the world.

A spokesperson of the state government said that the tourist places of UP are centers of faith, important sites related to the freedom struggle, monuments, forts and natural sites which are attracting tourists from all over the world.

He said that fulfilling the promises made in the Lok Kalyan Patra of the BJP, the state government first started the development of pilgrimage sites in the state.

According to the spokesperson, this was the first time that work on the Kashi Vishwanath Dham corridor started. The Mahabharata circuit in the Braj region, Kapilvastu, Kushinagar, the Buddhist circuit in Shravasti, Chitrakoot, Ayodhya and Shringverpur were developed as the Ramayana circuit. This gave a boost to the products there, increased employment opportunities and development of cities. Tourists started getting better facilities than before. Not only this, the government gave importance to culture and religiosity along with tourism.

He said that for the first time in the state, the events of Deepotsav in Ayodhya, Krishna festival in Mathura, Rangotsav in Barsana, grand Dev Deepawali in Varanasi captivated the tourists. Cruises in Varanasi, water sports in Ramgarhtal of Gorakhpur, Pilibhit Tiger Reserve and development of Devdari, Rajdari Waterfalls in Chandauli gave new dimensions to tourism.

Cultural tourism circuits will be made in the state by developing cultural tourism facilities in Mathura, Vrindavan, Ayodhya, Prayag, Vindhyachal, Naimisharanya, Chitrakoot, Kushinagar and Circuit, Buddha Varanasi etc., like Ram circuit, Krishna circuit etc.

A dedicated 24×7 State Tourism Helpline will be set up for tourist information, booking assistance etc.

All pilgrimage places will be connected with four lane highway.
