UP madarsa classes to operate for six hours

Lucknow, 28 Sept: The UP madarsa education council has prolonged the schedule of the madarsas in the midst of the current survey of unlawful madarsas in the state. UP madarsas will now be open for six hours a day, from 9 am to 3 pm. Classes used to last until 2 p.m. The new madrassa timetable will go into effect on October 1.

The Registrar of the Uttar Pradesh Madarsa Education Council, Jagmohan Singh, issued an order stating that teaching at madarsas will begin at 9 a.m. with prayer and the national song. Teaching will resume till 3 p.m. The council adopted the modification as part of the state government’s aim to deliver high-quality education.

According to UP Minority Welfare Minister Dharampal Singh, the government is for the first time experimenting with fresh hours. The way books are distributed in madarsas has also altered. Students at madarsas will now be granted money to purchase NCERT books for their courses via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

In addition, the minister stated that initiatives have been done to improve the quality of education at madarsas and to connect these pupils with the mainstream. The government’s objective is to provide them with opportunities as well as information in accordance with contemporary education.
