Headless body of TMC worker found in West Bengal

Hooghly, September 28: The headless body of a Trinamool Congress worker was found near Takipur Halt railway station under Pursura police station in Hooghly district of West Bengal on Wednesday. The head of the deceased was found at a distance of about six hundred meters from the headless cropse.

On information, the police of Pursura police station reached the spot and took the body in their possession and sent it for post-mortem. According to police sources, the name of the deceased was Sheikh Mohammed Rafiq alias Sahib (29). He was a resident of Rautara village of Jodhpur in Pursura.

According to local sources, Sahib had left with his friend Shubhashish Bhowmik on a motorcycle on Tuesday night. Shubhashish Bhowmik told that he dropped Sahib near Takipur station late in the night. Sahib”s headless body was found near Takipur halt station on Wednesday while his head was found in the jungles at a distance of six hundred meters from there. Sahib”s wife Sundari Begum told that Sahib had an illicit relationship with a young woman. He had quarrelled with her recently. She is the woman responsible for her husband”s death. There is no political reason for the incident.

However, Arambagh Trinamool Congress president Jaydev Jana said that Sahib was an active Trinamool worker. He was murdered at the behest of the BJP.

On the other hand, Pursura MLA Biman Ghosh said that any death is sad. BJP has nothing to do with death. Police should investigate the matter thoroughly and punish the guilty.
