UP govt sanctions Rs 797 cr for road work in Ayodhya

Lucknow, 2 August: The Uttar Pradesh government has approved Rs 797 crore for the expansion and renovation of roads leading to Ayodhya’s under construction Shri Ram temple. The decision was taken at a meeting of the state cabinet presided over by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

In Ayodhya, work on the Ram temple is well underway. To avoid and deal with crowds on major occasions in Ayodhya, the cabinet has approved the widening of the 12.94 km road from Sadatganj to Nayaghat along the lines of the Kashi Vishwanath corridor, Jaiveer Singh, Minister of Tourism, said.

He also stated that the road from Faizabad to the Hanumangarhi and Ram temples would be widened, and that shopkeepers would be rehabilitated. The Cabinet has approved โ‚น 797.69 crore for the project and set a two-year deadline.

According to the minister, the government’s priority is to establish UP as a center of religious tourism, which has enormous revenue potential. He added that the government is working on improving air and road connectivity, as well as providing basic infrastructure facilities for people’s convenience.
