UP: 3 power employees suspended, 1 gets service termination in Ghazipur bus accident case

Lucknow, March 11: In the case of bus accident in Ghazipur district, Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K.ย Sharma has suspended three officers of the Electricity Department and terminated the service of one employee.ย 

The Energy Minister expressed grief over the bus accident and prayed to God to grant peace to the souls of the deceased and provide strength to the families.

It is noteworthy that a tragic accident took place in Ghazipur district on Monday when a bus came in contact with high tension electric wire. Five people died in the fire that broke out in the bus, while many people got burnt.

Energy Minister Sharma, taking strict action after receiving information about the incident, has given instructions to suspend the concerned Executive Engineer Manish, SDO Santosh Chaudhary and JE Pradeep Kumar Rai and terminate the service of Lineman Narendra (contractual worker).

He talked to the MD, Divisional Commissioner, District Magistrate and Superintending Engineer of Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam. Instructed all the officers to expedite the relief work and provide all possible help to the affected people including arranging for proper treatment of the injured. Besides, Minister Shri Sharma himself reached Ghazipur and Mau to meet the victims’ families.

It is noteworthy that the bus caught fire after coming in contact with HT wire near 400 meters of Mardah police station in Ghazipur, in which a total of five people died, while more than 10 people are said to be injured, including 03 children and 02 are women. The injured have been admitted to hospital. The bus that met with the accident is said to be full of wedding guests. The bus was going to a wedding program from Mau, in which a total of 38 wedding guests were traveling in the bus.
