Two top ISIS terrorists caught in Assam

Guwahati, March 20: Two top international level ISIS terrorists were arrested in Dhubri on Wednesday. 

Police said that based on secret information, an operation was launched on the India-Bangladesh border by a team led by Assam Police IGP (STF) Partha Sarathi Mahant and Additional SP Kalyan Kumar Pathak. The accused were detected in Dharamshala area of ​​Dhubri at around 4.15 am on Wednesday after crossing the international border.

The nabbed persons have been identified as Haris Farooqui, the head of ISIS in India, and his associate Anurag Singh. Both of them were caught and brought to the STF office in Guwahati. 

It has been revealed about both of them that the accused Haris Faruqui alias Harish Ajmal Faruqui Chakrata, resident of Dehradun is the head of ISIS in India. His partner Anurag Singh alias Rehan resident of Deewana, Panipat converted to Islam and his wife is a Bangladeshi citizen. Both of them are highly motivated leaders/members of ISIS in India.

Both are highly trained ISIS leaders in India, who were involved in recruitment, terror funding and planning of terror acts across the country. Several cases are pending against him in NIA, Delhi, ATS, Lucknow and others.

STF, Assam will hand over the accused to the NIA for further legal action.
