Two held for wrongful restraint and moral policing

Telangana, September 29: Two persons were apprehended by the Commissioner’s task force, central zone team on Sunday morning on the credible information that these two accused were involved in the case of wrongful restraint and allegedly beating of a Hindu man, name Mahesh[complaint] because he has made a Muslim girl his friend.

According to the police, the accused, Mohammad Sohail and Mohammad Rahmat Ahmed were nabbed with the help of CCTV footage. Though, the case against them was registered on 26-09-2019 by the Mahesh at the Abid Road police station since then they were absconding.

“The complainant, Mahesh had given lift to his college mate, who belong to the Muslim community, at Masab Tank bus stop to Afzalgunj on his two wheeler. So the accused noticing that a muslim girl moving with a Hindu man immediately followed the vehicle of the complainant and stopped him, beat him and snatched his mobile phone. Later, both the accused forced a girl to sit on their vehicle so that they can drop her at her residence. However, the accused warned a girl not to be friend with Hindu boys”, police said.

As far as the accused are concerned, both of them have been arrested under IPC sections U/S 341, 504, 509, 153[A], 324, 366[A], 382r/w, 34 and the police have also recovered the mobile phone of the complainant and their two wheeler they used to commit offence.
