Ensure necessary actions to control increasing prices of onion: UP Chief Secretary

Lucknow, Sept 29 : Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Rajendra Kumar Tiwari has directed the concerned officials to ensure necessary actions to control the increase in onion prices in the state and also to ensure meaningful arrangement to make onion available at reasonable price to the people.

He also said that effort should be made to increase the arrival of onion, ensure effective actions to reduce the price of onion and special watch should also be kept on the retail prices.

Chief Secretary was giving directions to the concerned officials to check the prices of onion and also to make it available at reasonable cost. He said to take action against the mediators who are responsible for illegally storing the onion. He also added that responsibility of a concerned officers should be fixed to increase the arrival and also to control hike in the prices of onions.

He further said that Uttar Pradesh has immense potential to attract investors from all over the world because of its rich historical monuments and ancient heritage. The ancient temples are great source of attraction for the tourist coming from different part of country and world.

Focusing on the religious significance of District Jhansi, Chitrakoot, Bhadohi, Sonbhadhra, Mirzapur, Varanasi, Gorakhpur and Santkabir Nagar, the Chief Secretary said that Uttar Pradesh is filled with historical and religious places. He also added that animals of rare species kept in various parks are also one of the center of attraction for the tourist along with numerous water parks attracting thousands of tourist throughout the year.

Keeping in view the large population of Uttar Pradesh it has huge potential for investment and can provide large opportunity for the investors to invest here. In this row the government is keen on focusing one district-one product to develop that specific product, Tiwari added.
