Three people arrested for celebratory firing at ceremony in Lucknow

Lucknow, February 22: Three people have been arrested on the charge of ‘celebratory firing’ in tilak ceremony on Thursday from Mohanlalganj area in Lucknow, informed police.

Three men namely Ram Milan, Vipin Yadav and Anil Yadav fired six rounds during a dance in an orchestra at a Tilak ceremony in a village in the Mohanlalganj area, police said.

However, a video of celebratory firing  went viral on various social media platform, after which the police came into action and without wasting time identified all three men and arrested them on Saturday.

According to Mohanlalganj police station in-charge Gaudin Shukla, there was a tilak ceremony of Vipin Yadav in Jabrauli village on Thursday  in which a man shot six rounds fire one after the other while dancing with orchestra dancer and his teammates. During this, a man came to attend  ceremony has made a video of it which went viral on social media. As soon as it came into the notice of police,  the search of three men was started on the basis of the video.

Police on Saturday arrested Ram Milan, Anil Yadav and Vipin Yadav, residents of Basantkheda in Kakori. Soon after detention, persons involved in firing have repented and assured that they will not do such an act again in future. However, a case has been registered against the accused, police told.
