Thiruvananthapuram, 2 May: Political parties dependent on vote banks and crying from rooftops in support of minority communities as well as Islamic terrorist organisations find themselves isolated over their demand for banning the movie The Kerala Story which is based on real-life incidents.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, whose daughter Veena dumped her first husband and chose to go away with a jihadi by the name of Mohammed Riyaz, has said that the movie should not be screened in Kerala as it is likely to cause enmity and hatred between communities.

Leader of the Opposition V D Satheeshan, who had no qualms in holding secret parleys with Nair Service Society, an organisation reportedly representing the Nair community, seeking the votes of the community during the election, too has asked for banning the movie, the theme of which is Love Jihad and Islamic Terrorism.

V S Achuthanandan, the then chief minister of Kerala, had declared in 2010 that Love Jihad was a reality and Kerala would soon become a Muslim majority State. “Terrorists and extremists are selectively targeting Hindu and Christian girls, converting them to Islam and packing them off to IS-dominated regions in West Asia. This is an alarming scenario,” Achuthanandan had said in a press meeting held in New Delhi in 2010.

Nobody questioned the stand of Achuthanandan as it was known to all that Love Jihad was eating into Kerala society. According to Pratheesh Viswanath, coordinator of Hindu Help Line, more than 50,000 Hindu girls have eloped during the last five decades as part of the Love Jihad, ?Earlier, they were targeting only Hindu girls. But the last decade saw many Christian girls too falling prey to their designs,? said Viswanath.

The supporters of Kerala Story got a shot in the arm on Tuesday morning as Nuzarath Jahan, a social activist and aviation professional based in Kozhikode came out in support of the movie. ?Let the critics of the movie watch it and point out the errors if any. Or they can make a movie in response to this film. I have decided to watch the movie and waiting for its release. It is a real-life story and those who say that the movie is fake are living in a fool?s paradise,? said Jahan.

Meanwhile, a Muslim fanatic by the name of P K Feroze has declared that he would give Rs 10 lakh to anyone who brings to light a Love Jihad marriage. But Viswanath, in a sporting offer declared that he would give Rs one crore to anyone who proves that there is no Love Jihad in Kerala or no girls from the State have been sent to ISIS stronghold.
