Lucknow, 14 April: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today paid homage to the architect of the Constitution Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar on his birth anniversary by garlanding his statue.
He said that from today, the work of protecting, beautifying and installing umbrellas on the statues of Baba Saheb has been started in all the 75 districts of the state and a high level research institute is being established in Lucknow to do research on the life philosophy of Baba Saheb.
He said that tampering with the national anthem, national song, and Indian unity and integrity is an insult to Baba Saheb. Therefore, it is the responsibility of society to strongly oppose those forces that compromise the nation’s unity and integrity.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was addressing a program organized at the Dr. Ambedkar Mahasabha campus in Lucknow on Tuesday.
On this occasion, he garlanded the statue of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution, installed in the Mahasabha campus and paid his humble tribute by offering flowers.
Chief Minister Yogi also released the Mahasabha’s souvenir. Uttar Pradesh government ministers Asim Arun and Baby Rani Maurya, Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharwal, and Rajya Sabha member Brajlal were present at the event.
At the event, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath detailed the work being done by the BJP government for the Dalit community and mentioned his recent visit to Lakhimpur Kheri. He said that in the year 1971, no government gave land nor citizenship to the Dalit Hindus who came from Bangladesh to Lakhimpur Kheri, but when he visited Lakhimpur, he provided land pattas and citizenship to more than a thousand people.
While discussing the book of Rajya Sabha member Braj Lal on the stage, he said that it must read what has been written about two Dalit leaders of independent India, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and Yogendra Nath Mandal, and the books should also be kept in the Mahasabha. While Dr. Ambedkar is revered in the entire country today, on the other hand, no one even remembers Yogendra Nath Mandal.
Paying homage to the architect of the Constitution, Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the Chief Minister said that the state government has launched a campaign to protect, beautify, and install umbrellas over the statues of Baba Saheb installed in all 75 districts of the state. Adequate budget has been allocated for this, and State Social Welfare Minister Asim Arun is overseeing the entire work. He said that statues of all great men of the Dalit and extremely backward communities, including Baba Saheb, Jyotiba Phule, Sant Ravidas Maharaj, Satan Pasi, and Maharaja Bijli Pasi, will be installed and fully protected.
Chief Minister said that those who insulted and obstructed the path of social justice leaders and great men are now trying to make excuses. Such people should be asked why the districts named after Baba Saheb and Sant Ravidas, and the state’s largest medical institution, named after the great man, were renamed.
Chief Minister Yogi said that the names of two universities in Lucknow were changed. Similarly, the medical college in Kannauj was named after Dr. Ambedkar but was changed. However, when our government came to power, Social Welfare Minister Asim Arun took the initiative and organized a ceremony in Kannauj to rename the medical college after Baba Saheb.
Chief Minister asked who are those who deprived Dalits and the underprivileged of land leases and deprived the poor of the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme.
Attacking the Samajwadi Party, the Chief Minister said that the name of the Samajwadi Party leader, who was born with a silver spoon, will be included among those who deprived Dalits and the underprivileged of their rights. These people never saw the suffering of Dalits and the underprivileged and continued to harass them, but this will no longer happen. Our government is providing social justice and has created a battalion.
Yogi continued to attack Akhilesh Yadav by stating that the Samajwadi Party used to not allow events to be held in Varanasi, the holy land of Saint Ravidas. However, when the double-engine government came to power, it constructed a park for two lakh people on that same land, installed a statue of Saint Ravidas, and built a four-lane road. Furthermore, the BJP government has also constructed a guest house and a food area. Remember, Samajwadi Party goons were attempting to occupy Chitrakoot, the place of Maharishi Valmiki’s meditation, but the double-engine government secured the land and took action against the goons.
Discussing the development of the Panch Teerth, the Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has built memorials, and development work is continuously taking place at Baba Saheb’s birthplace and workplace in India and abroad. The Congress and Samajwadi Party did nothing, and their leaders threatened to demolish Dalit icons and are shedding crocodile tears today. However, the entire society knows the truth, and the Congress and Samajwadi Party are resorting to various means to conceal this reality. It is important to identify these divisive forces, as they remained silent when a Dalit youth was murdered in Bangladesh. We have to see that Baba Saheb’s thoughts and philosophy of life are in accordance with India.
