Lucknow, 15 October: Expressing grief over the incident of several people being crushed to death by a car during a religious procession in Jashpur, Chhattisgarh state, senior Uttar Pradesh minister and government spokesperson Siddharth Nath Singh on Friday urged Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to immediately arrest the accused driver and sought assistance for the dead and injured.

He has questioned Congress brother and sister duo Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as to when they are reaching there with their Chief Ministers.

In this shocking incident, at least four persons were killed and over twenty persons were injured when an SUV crushed Hindu devotees participating in Dussehra procession.

Raising questions on this incident, Singh said that during this time it is clearly visible that the Chhattisgarh government had not made proper arrangements for police and traffic in such an important Dussehra event. This was entirely a result of the mismanagement of the local administration, in which innocent devotees died.

Siddharth Nath Singh has strongly condemned this and asked Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel why the government there remains indifferent towards Hindu events. Whatever happens in Uttar Pradesh, the entire Congress reached here.

He said that now it is also to be seen what the Congress government does there for the families of the dead and the injured.

He said that Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra have made Uttar Pradesh their ‘political tourism’ hub but in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, they turn their back on the atrocities on Dalits and farmers.

The senior state minister said that now it has to be seen when both the Congress leaders reach there after such a serious incident.
