Supreme Court gets nine new judges

New Delhi, 31st August: The Supreme Court got nine new judges on Tuesday. Chief Justice NV Ramana administered the oath to these nine judges today. This is the first time in history that nine judges were simultaneously sworn in as judges of the Apex Court.

Justices AS Oka, Justice Vikram Nath, Justice JK Maheshwari, Justice Hima Kohli, Justice BV Nagarathna, Justice CT Ravindrakumar, Justice MM Sundaresh, Justice Bela Trivedi and PS Narasimha are among the judges who were administered oath by the Chief Justice today. .

Among the new judges, Justice Vikram Nath, Justices BV Nagarathna and PS Narasimha could become the Chief Justice in future. Justice Nagarathna may become the Chief Justice in 2027. She will be the first woman Chief Justice of India.

It is worth mentioning that in the meeting of the Collegiums held on August 17, it was recommended to appoint these nine names as judges of the Supreme Court. After that, these judges were appointed by President Ram Nath Kovind on August 26.
