Sleeper bus collides with truck on Agra-Lucknow Expressway, 14 killed, 24 injured

Firozabad, Feb 13: The sleeper bus going from Delhi to Bihar collided with a standing truck on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway near the Maidan village of Pagla Khanjar area of Firozabad district of Uttar Pradesh.

However, there is a possibility of 14 people dead and 24 passengers injured in this accident. About 40 to 45 passengers have been reported to be in the bus.

As the information about the major mishap, police reached the spot and sent the injured to Saifai Medical College for treatment. In which the condition of many passengers is said to be critical.

The bus was completely gutted after the accident, which has been pulled from the crane and separated from the trola.

Local people reported this incident to the police. On receiving the information, immediately the police team from three police stations Nagla Khangar, Sirsaganj and Naseerpur have reached the spot.

Dial 112 also reached with the relief team of UP Expressways Industrail Development Authority (UPEIDA). SSP Sachindra Patel himself also reached the spot of accident who immediately sent the injured for medical aid at  Saifai Medical College.

Those killed in the accident have not been identified till late in the night. Among the dead are residents of different cities like Firozabad, Deoria, Delhi and Bihar.

Senior Superintendent of Police Sachindra Patel said that a bus collided with a trola parked on the Lucknow Expressway. About 10 to 14 people are expected to be dead and 24 to 25 people are injured in this accident. All the injured were sent by ambulance to PGI Saifai. Travelers who wanted to go home were being sent home.

Chief Minister gave relief instructions

Taking cognizance of the bus accident, Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath has directed the DM and SP to reach the spot immediately and do relief work. He has also given instructions to provide proper treatment to the injured in this accident.
