SIR final list: Uttar Pradesh adds 84 lakh new voters, total now 13.39 crore, apprises UP CEO in presser

Lucknow, April 10: After a long process of an Intensive Revision Campaign (SIR) in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Uttar Pradesh Navdeep Rinwa has released the final voter list of the state on Friday.

According to the list, there are 13 crore 39 lakh 84 thousand 792 voters in Uttar Pradesh. There has been an increase of 84 lakh 28 thousand 767 voters in this. Of these, there are 7 crore, 30 lakh, 71 thousand 61 male voters and 6 crore, 9 lakh, 9525 female voters in the state. Names of 8 lakh 15 thousand 996 voters have been deleted from the SIR due to various reasons. This also includes the names of 3 lakh 50 thousand 436 voters who were deleted due to lack of correct response despite giving notice.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa stated in a press conference at the Lok Bhavan media center today that the final voter list has been released after a 166-day special, intensive revision process. According to the released voter list, Uttar Pradesh has 133,984,792 voters, representing an increase of 84,28,767. Of these, 73,071,061 are male voters and 60,99,525 are female voters. The number of third-gender voters is 4,206. The total number of voters in the 18-19 age group in the state is 176,3360. Of these, 54.54 percent are male voters, while 45.46 percent are female. He added that those whose names were omitted can still be added to the list by filling out Form 6.

The CEO said that in the final voter list released today, the maximum increase in the number of voters has been seen in five districts of the state. Prayagraj is on top among these. 3 lakh 29 thousand 421 voters have increased in Prayagraj, 2 lakh 85 thousand 961 voters in Lucknow, 2 lakh 57 thousand 920 voters in Bareilly, 2 lakh 43 thousand 666 voters in Ghaziabad and 2 lakh 37 thousand 590 voters in Jaunpur.

He told that apart from this, the five assembly constituencies of the state where the maximum increase in voters has been recorded are 82 thousand in Sahibabad, 56 thousand 158 in Jaunpur, 54 thousand 822 in Lucknow West and 47 thousand 557 voters in Firozabad.

He said that under SIR, the draft list of 12.55 crore voters was released on January 6. After this, all types of claims and objections on this draft voter list were invited from the people till 6 March, in which 86.69 lakh people filled Form-6 for inclusion of their names in the voter list. Whereas 3.18 lakh people filled Form-7 for deletion of their names. There are 1.04 crore people in the voter list whose names did not match with their parents, grandparents and hence they were given notice. Whereas 2.22 crore people had logical discrepancies.

Chief Electoral Officer informed that meetings were held at the state and district level with representatives of various political parties including BJP, Samajwadi Party, Congress, BSP in SIR and the complaints and memorandums received in them were heard and resolved promptly. Not only this, these parties had appointed their workers as booth level agents, who ensured their participation in the work related to SIR at the booth level.ย
