New Delhi, July 11: The startling encounter of Vikas Dubey and his accomplices has reached the door of Supreme Court on Saturday.

Two petitions have been filed seeking the investigation of Vikas Dubey’s encounter with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The Supreme Court may hear these petitions on July 13.

A petition has been filed by Supreme Court lawyer Anoop Prakash Awasthi in which the CBI or SIT has also been asked to investigate the case of murder of 8 policemen on July 2.

However, SC lawyer Anoop Awasthi said that it is necessary to get to the bottom of the nexus of police, politicians and criminals.

Anoop Awasthi has demanded an early hearing on another petition filed earlier in the same case. In a letter to the registry, it is said that there is a possibility that an encounter like Vikas Dubey may also happen for the rest.

The second petition has been filed by the NGO People’s Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL). PUCL has demanded a judicial inquiry into this encounter. The petition said that in the name of speedy justice, the police cannot take the law in their hands.
