SARS-CoV-2 infection on the rise in 15 districts of five states of the country, Lucknow and Kanpur city among them

New Delhi, 04 September: Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan held a review meeting with health secretaries of Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu via video conferencing.

In 15 districts of these five states, Chittoor, Prakasam, Mysuru, Bangalore, Bellary, Koppal, Dakshina Kannada, Devanagiri, Ludhiana, Patiala, Chennai, Coimbatore, Salem, Lucknow and Kanpur Nagar where cases of Covid-19 have increased sharply in the last four weeks.

In view of this, on Friday, Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan held a review meeting with district magistrates, corporation commissioners and state health secretaries and asked to strengthen the testing capacity and monitoring mechanism in these districts.

Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan prepared a road map for the next four weeks, reviewing the corona cases and their causes in all the 15 districts of these five states.

He emphasized to do more and more tests to prevent the spread of corona, strengthen the monitoring mechanism, speed up the search for contact and treat the patient by isolating them.

These states were directed to work towards bringing the death rate down to one percent with strict steps to prevent the spread of corona.
