Reliance Jio to hike tariffs by 40% by December 6 after Airtel and Vodafone Idea

New Delhi, 01 December: After Airtel and Vodafone Idea, Reliance Jio has announced to increase the tariffs of mobile services on Sunday. The enhanced new rates of Jio will be effective from December 6 and will be up to 40 per cent more expensive.

It is noteworthy that Reliance Jio has issued this statement after the announcement of increasing the rates of mobile services by Vodafone-Idea and Airtel. Vodafone Idea has made mobile services costlier by 42 per cent and Airtel by 10-50 percent. The revised rates of these two mobile companies will be effective from December 3.

However, the company said in a statement that it is based on its principles of Consumer First. Along with this, the company also claimed that due to these reasons, it will increase the fee by 40 percent as well as give 300 percent profit. The company said that it would take all necessary steps to keep the Indian telecom industry sustainable. Apart from this, the statement issued by Jio said that it will continue to cooperate in the consultation process with the central government regarding the amendment in the fee of telecom services.
