Receive ‘Sawan’ prasad of Kashi Vishwanath Temple via speed post

Lucknow/ Varanasi, 05 July: The worship of Lord Shiva and his offerings (Prasad) in the pious month of ‘Sawan’ or ‘Shravan’ is considered to be reverent among devotees. In such a situation, the devotees of Lord Shiva will not have to be disappointed anymore. Now they will be able to get the prasad of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple from home via speed post.

An auspicious month of ‘Sawan’ will begin from Monday and end on August 3 in the midst of the dark shadow of global pandemic coronavirus infection.

Krishna Kumar Yadav, Director Postal Services, Lucknow Headquarters Zone, said that under an agreement between the Department of Posts and Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust, ‘Prasad’ of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple in new format will be made available to the people through Speed ​​Post Service.

“Under this, an e-money order of only Rs 251 will have to be sent to the postal superintendent, Varanasi (East) division from the nearest post office. As soon as the e-money order is received, the postal department will immediately send it to the given address,” Yadav told.

He informed that the canned prasad will be in the tamper-proof envelop. This will not be tampered with in any way.

“The tamper-proof envelop will contain the image of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirlinga, Mahamrityunjaya Mahayantram, Shri Shiva Chalisa, 108 beads of Rudraksha garland, ‘Belapatra’ offered to Baba, inscribed coin of Bhole Baba begging from Mata Annapurna, Meva, Bhasma, Chandan, Raksha Sutra and Mishri Packet etc,” apprised postal officer.

This initiative of the Department of Posts is getting much appreciation. Due to the corona, where it will be able to follow the physical distance and ‘stay home, stay safe’, people will also be able to fulfil the wish of getting Baba’s Prasad just by sitting at home.

The Department of Posts has also made arrangements that, the devotees will get the details of the speed post on the mobile number through SMS. For this, devotees will be required to write their full address, PIN code and mobile number in e-money order.
