Rahul Gandhi visits relief camps in Manipur’s Moirang

Imphal, June 30: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday visited two relief camps at Moirang in Manipur’s Bishnupur district. Party officials said that Rahul reached Moirang by helicopter from Imphal at around 9.30 am. He met many affected people and tried to listen to their problems.

Party sources said that around one thousand people have taken shelter in the two camps that Rahul visited.

Former Manipur chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh, party general secretary (organisation) KC Venugopal, PCC president K Meghachandra Singh and former MP Ajay Kumar accompanied Rahul.

The Congress president said that Rahul will also meet intellectuals and civil society representatives in Imphal today.

On Thursday, he had visited relief camps in Churachandpur. His convoy was stopped by the local police in Bishnupur for security reasons. They reached Churachandpur by helicopter.
