Prophet row: Islamists raise slogans against Nupur Sharma in Lucknow

Lucknow, June 10: After the Friday prayers at the Teele Wali Masjid in Lucknow, Namazies raised slogans against suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma over her controversial remarks on Prophet Mohammad.

On receiving information about sloganeering at Teele Wali Masjid, a large number of policemen arrived from the local police station and later removed the crowd from the mosque.

Muslims who were unhappy with the statement of expelled BJP leader Nupur Sharma raised slogans at the Teele Wali Masjid. Some sloganeering youths also raised slogans of Allah Hu Akbar in front of the policemen. The policemen intervened and tried to pacify the matter but due to the huge crowd, the policemen did not succeed. After this a large number of policemen were called and action was taken to forcefully remove the people from the mosque.

The sloganeering incident at the Teele Wali Masjid also had an impact at other places in the city.

Meanwhile, there was also an incident of sloganeering at mosques in Budheshwar, Nishatganj area but soon the atmosphere calmed down. The people responsible for the mosque later pacified the people.
