President appoints 17 as judges for 3 HCs

New Delhi, 12 October: President Ram Nath Kovind has approved the appointment of 17 judges in three high courts. An announcement to this effect was made in the notification issued today.

The President has ordered the appointment of 8 judges for the Allahabad High Court, 4 for the Madras High Court and 5 for the Gauhati High Court. Chandan Kumar Rai, Krishna Pahal, Sameer Jain, Ashutosh Srivastava, Subhash Vidyarthi, Brij Raj Singh, Sriprakash Singh and Vikas Badhwar are among those appointed by the President as judges of the Allahabad High Court.

Sundaram Smt., D. Bharat Chakraborty, R. Vijayakumar and Mohd. Shafid are among those appointed by the President as judges of the Madras High Court. Kakheto Sema, Debashish Barua, Malashree Nandi, Marli Wankung and Arun Dev Chowdhury are among those appointed by the President as judges of the Gauhati High Court.

The President has ordered the appointment of Arun Dev Choudhary from November 5.
