Dibrugarh, April 6: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday called the Congress party anti-development and the party leadership the most corrupt.
Through the National Herald, he accused the Gandhi family of land grabbing in major cities. He said that the party is opposing land being given for roads, railways, and industries in the name of development for vote bank reasons.
Addressing an election rally in Dibrugarh, Assam, Modi said that the Congress is raising the issue of land grabbing to provide cover to infiltrators. He said, “Today, the Congress remembered land because land is being snatched from their infiltrator vote bank. This is the biggest reason behind the land uproar. This is Congress’s game plan to provide cover to infiltrators.”
The senior BJP leader said that the Congress party had given away the land of farmers and tribals, our pride land like Kaziranga, to infiltrators. His party’s government has driven out infiltrators from millions of acres of such land, and this is the grief that is gnawing at the Congress party.
He said that the Congress’s thinking about development is also evident in its election campaign. Party leaders are claiming that the BJP-NDA government gave land for roads, railways, and industries. This means that the Congress is opposing the land given for the convenience of the people of Assam, farmers, and employment for the youth. Had the Congress government given land for development during its time, so many generations of Assamese people would not have to suffer.
Prime Minister accused the government of maligning the attire and culture of the tea garden workers. The Congress party has also smeared his conversations with the tea garden workers. Congress members are creating false images using AI.
Modi alleged that the Congress’s top leadership is actually involved in the land grab. The Congress’s “first family” is widely considered the most corrupt family in the country. They are accused of acquiring land in major cities like Delhi and Mumbai through the National Herald scam, and court cases are still ongoing in this matter. Furthermore, the Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust is also accused of acquiring land granted for industrial purposes.
He said, “The so-called royal family of the Congress party is the most corrupt family in the country; they are the real ‘land ATMs’. These people are accused of grabbing land worth thousands of crores of rupees in cities like Delhi and Mumbai through the National Herald scam; court cases are ongoing regarding this.”
