Over 81% eligible people received first dose of Covid-19 vaccine in UP

Lucknow, 15 December: The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is ramping up immunization drive under a proper strategy to give protection to the people of the state. Its positive results are also being seen in the state.

So far, the UP has set a new record by administering over 18 crore 11 lakh vaccine doses. Till Wednesday, more than 12 crore eligible people have been given the first dose and more than 06 crore 11 lakh people have been given the second dose.

A spokesman of the state government said that more than 09 crore tests have been done so far in the state which has the highest number of tests and vaccinations. In the last 24 hours, in more than 01 lakh 83 thousand tests, only 19 infection cases were confirmed, during which 11 people defeated the infection. The number of active cases in the state is 153, while the recovery rate is 98.7 percent.

β€œIn UP, which is a rapid immunization in a short time, so far 81.18 percent of the eligible people have got the vaccine cover of the first dose and 41.07 percent of the eligible people have got the vaccine cover,” he told.

The spokesman said that the mobilizers (ASHA, Anganwadi, link workers) working with the vaccination team in the state are identifying the people who have missed vaccination in the area on the immunization day. Communicating with such people is being encouraged for vaccination. In urban areas, for those who have not been vaccinated, at least one fixed COVID vaccination session is being conducted from 8 am to 10 pm.
