Over 40,000 travel in Lucknow metro on Tuesday, highest since relaxation in covid curbs

Lucknow, August 24: Since the ease given in Covid curbs in the capital Lucknow, 40 thousand passengers travelled by metro train on Tuesday. This number of passengers is the highest in a single day after Unlock-2.

Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (UPMRCL) Managing Director Kumar Keshav said that like Unlock-1, this time too the number of passengers in Lucknow Metro trains is increasing rapidly. After Unlock-2, 40 thousand passengers have travelled in Lucknow Metro on Tuesday. This is the highest number of daily commuters till date.

He said that this number of passengers in a day is over 60 percent. That is why I am grateful to the people of Lucknow. Under the Covid Guidelines, all the arrangements made for the purpose of ensuring safe travel in metro stations and trains are going on. Special care is being taken for sanitization and physical distance for safe and smooth travel.

Actually, the operation of metro train has resumed in Lucknow from June 09 in Unlock-2. Metro services are now available seven days a week. Earlier, weekly closure was being followed due to Corona.
