NSA imposed over 125 people since January in UP

Lucknow, 24 August: Additional Chief Secretary Home Awanish Kumar Awasthi said on Monday that in the action taken by the state Home Department, the National Security Act (NSA) has been imposed upon 66 people in 53 cases between January 01 and May 31.

โ€œSince June, over 45 people have been charged with NSA in 45 cases. In addition, 396 gangcharts have been approved by the District Magistrates (DMs) between June 25 and August 22. A total of 2,637 gangcharts have been cleared by the DMs so far,โ€ Awasthi told during presser.

Awasthi further apprised, with this, property worth Rs 15,13,07,829 crore under gangster promises was attached between June 25 and August 22, while a total of Rs 1,26,53,01,316 has been attached so far. Under Section 107/216, 6, 82,591 people have been banned from 1, 83,678 promises.

Additional Chief Secretary Home said that so far an FIR has been registered against 2,00,817 people under Section 188. So far 69,278 vehicles have been seized in intensive checking of 1, 33, 04,737 vehicles in the state. A fine of Rs 67, 76, 20,089 was recovered during the checking operation. Permits of 4, 32,336 vehicles have been issued for essential services.

He said that 391 people have been arrested, registering 817 FIRs against 1102 people who committed black marketing and hoarding. So far, action has been taken under Fake News taking cognizance of 2332 cases. As many as 79, 27,280 people from 13, 62,042 houses have been identified under the 14,642 containment zones. The number of corona positive people in these risk zones is 37,668.
