Notification of Uniform Civil Code issued in Uttarakhand

Dehradun, March 13: Uniform Civil Code law has come into force in Uttarakhand. The state government has published the notification in the extraordinary official gazette on March 12.

In this notification of the legislative and parliamentary work of the Uttarakhand government, it has been said that under Article 201 of the Constitution of India, the President has given her assent on March 11 to the Uniform Civil Code Uttarakhand 2024 Bill passed in the Uttarakhand Assembly.

After this approval, Act No. 3 of Uttarakhand has been published for the year 2024 for general information. It has been said that it is a moment of great joy and pride for all the people of the state that “our government has given its approval to the Uniform Civil Code Bill passed in the Uttarakhand Assembly by President Droupadi Murmu”.

With the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code law in the state, along with providing equal rights to all citizens, the oppression of women will also be curbed. Uniform Civil Code will play an important role in promoting harmony by proving the importance of social equality in the state.
