No terrorist links in Kushinagar mosque blast: IG-L&O

Lucknow, November 15: Uttar Pradesh Inspector General of Police (IG) Law and Order Praveen Kumar told that there is no terrorist organization behind the explosion in the mosque of a village in Kushinagar district of Uttar Pradesh. So far no terrorist link has been found in the investigation. Though, six people, including Maulvi and Haji, have been arrested in this case.

IG (Law & Order) further told that there was an explosion occured last Monday in a mosque of Bairagi Patti village of Turkapatti police station in Kushinagar district. However, Police have already disclosed this matter. Low grade explosive material was kept in the mosque, in which the explosion has taken place.

The special thing was that this blast did not happen during the Namaz in the mosque. At the same time, when the explosion occurred, the police was claiming to be a battery explosion. But ATS and forensic investigation claimed that it was an explosive substance kept in the mosque. The IG also informed that six people, including Haji Qutbuddin, the master mind of the blast in the mosque and Maulana Azimuddin of the mosque, have been arrested. Maulana Azimuddin of the mosque had described Qutubuddin as the mastermind in the security investigation’s preliminary inquiry.
