No shortage of electricity in Uttar Pradesh, says Shrikant Sharma

Lucknow, 03rd September: Energy and Additional Energy Resources Minister Shrikant Sharma reviewed the districts of Gorakhpur, Bareilly, Saharanpur and Aligarh zones through video conferencing with public representatives on Friday for uninterrupted power supply.

He said that there is sufficient power in the state and any negligence in supply is not acceptable. Action will be taken against the negligent ones.

On complaints about making transformers of poor quality in the workshop, he has directed to conduct a technical audit of the workshops of all the districts of the division and said that it should be investigated by sending a team from the headquarters. Make sure to check the contents of the store as well. MD will oversee it. For reforms in the distribution sector, proposals have also been sought from all the public representatives for the Revamp Distribution Sector Scheme launched on the instructions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He said that under the new scheme construction of new 33/11 KV substations, capacity addition of overloaded 33/11 KV substations, AB cabling on LT lines, separation of 33 KV and 11 KV feeders, replacement of dilapidated wires, new Construction of 11 KV feeders, capacity addition of overloaded transformers, installation of new transformers to eliminate overloading and other necessary works are to be started. Due to which many problems related to power supply will be permanently solved.

He also directed the managing directors (MDs) of Dakshinachal, Madhyaanchal, Purvanchal and Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited to take proposals from all the public representatives in this regard and send them to the corporation at the earliest.

Sharma stated that took more time to replace transformers, electrification in new houses, take complaints of supply seriously. Expressing displeasure over the problem of supply, he directed the MD Distribution Company (DISCOM) to monitor it from his own level.

He said that when full power is being given, then rostering should not be done, it should be ensured. It was also said that if the transformer blows up, it should be replaced immediately. The officials responsible for delaying this should be fixed. Do not cut anywhere from sunset to sunrise.

He directed to get the work done immediately on the proposals given from the MLA and MP funds. It also said that uninterrupted supply of electricity should be ensured. The officials must inform all the public representatives about the work being done in their area.

In the absence of timely testing of distribution sub-centres, MD Purvanchal was directed to review the works of the Test Division and fix accountability for negligence.

He ordered the MD DISCOM to review the proposals for capacity enhancement at their level. Work should be done on priority basis and public representatives should also be informed about it.

He said that all the officers should listen to the complaints through social media and speedy disposal of complaints of 1912 and also telephonic complaints.

The Energy Minister also directed to resolve the suggestions and problems of public representatives in a week.
