Mortality rate in UP at 1.75, aims to reduce further

Lucknow, August 08: State Finance, Parliamentary Affairs and Medical Education Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said on Saturday that the government is working seriously on the coronavirus infection and its better results have come out.

โ€œCurrently, the death rate from Covid-19 is 1.75 percent in Uttar Pradesh, which is 2.04 percent and much lower than other states. This proves that Uttar Pradesh is in a much better position than other states,โ€ Khanna informed.

He said that testing of Covid-19 is being done in the state over one lakh per day. Only 1, 02,982 tests were conducted in the state yesterday. 10 Biosafety Level (BSL) labs will be ready by the end of this month to increase testing work.

Medical Education Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said that the Chief Minister has directed from time to time that the prevention and treatment side be strengthened so that no patient has to wait for ambulance and treatment for much longer.

He informed that the number of L-2 and L-3 beds is being increased in the state.

He appealed to everyone to use masks in public places. Do not leave the house without a mask.

Minister added further that with a view to keeping the entire people safe from this pandemic and to make timely treatment of infected persons, the state government has made a provision of Rs 450 crore. Under this, Covid hospitals have been set up in all the districts of the state through the Covid Care Fund. There are currently 1, 51,000 beds available so that infected persons can be made healthy by treating them as per the Covid-19 protocol. A lab was established in the state regarding Corona in the past. Presently 32 Corona Testing Lab has been set up.

Initially, the districts of the worst affected areas of Corona have now reduced the death rate due to Corona.

The Chief Minister has directed the Additional Chief Secretary, Health to ensure the establishment of L-3 Hospitals in Bulandshahar and Baghpat districts. A target has been set to bring the corona mortality rate below one percent within the next 15 days.

With this, the Chief Minister has inaugurated the modern Covid hospital in Noida on Saturday with 250 beds. So far, 3 ICU wards have been built in it, in which arrangement of 28 beds has been ensured. The hospital has 10 ventilators and two mobile ventilators are available. A mobile dialysis machine has also been arranged in this state-of-the-art hospital.

Furnished labs have been prepared, ensuring installation of other modern machines under the hospital. This modern Covid hospital has been inaugurated in collaboration with the Bill and Milinda Gates Foundation and Tata Trusts.
