Moist easterly winds likely to bring more rain in Uttar Pradesh

Kanpur/Lucknow, 20 August: The sultry summer may have been bothering people in the past due to the weakening of the Southwest Monsoon, but now the monsoon has become active once again due to sea activities. Where there will be rain for two days due to the moist winds coming from the Bay of Bengal, then the lightning will also be severe.

In such a situation, especially the farmer brothers should stay away from trees and plants during lightning strikes.

Dr SN Sunil Pandey, Meteorologist of Chandrashekhar Azad Agricultural Technological University said on Friday that according to the weather system formed across the country, the low pressure area over Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh has now weakened. A cyclonic circulation is persisting over the same region and it is very likely to move in a west-northwest direction towards northern parts of Madhya Pradesh. A trough is extending from Vidarbha to Tamil Nadu coast across Telangana and Rayalaseema.

Pandey further added that the Monsoon Trough is moving towards Ganganagar, Alwar, Gwalior, Sidhi, Jamshedpur, Digha and then east-southeastwards towards Bay of Bengal. The Cyclonic Circulation lies over Central Pakistan. During the next 24 hours, Gangetic West Bengal, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, parts of Nagaland, Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh including Kanpur Division, parts of Odisha, isolated parts of Telangana, Parts of Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Andaman and Nicobar Islands may receive light to moderate rain with isolated heavy rains.

“Light to moderate rain is likely over Jharkhand, remaining parts of Telangana, Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat region, southeast and east Rajasthan, parts of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala, parts of Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep. Light rain is possible over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Saurashtra and Kutch,” he said.

Moist winds are getting warm in the plains

Hetold that the Meteorological Department has forecast that lightning events are also possible in the entire western Uttar Pradesh and eastern Uttar Pradesh, including Kanpur division, because the moist air coming from the Arabian Sea becomes hot by reaching north India and Bengal The moist air coming from the Gulf collides with those warm winds in the Gangetic plains after hitting the unmatched Himalayan Mountains over North India. Because the moist air is below, there are incidents of lightning and fall in the areas where these winds collide.

“As there is a possibility for the next two days, there may be lightning and lightning in entire Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir. Farmers and public are advised to stay away from under trees and where there is water area at the time of lightning and not to use mobile phones in the balcony when the electricity is cracking, if possible, all electric power. Turn off the device if you are driving, stay inside the car,” he apprised.
