Missing jawan in Reds custody, claims Maoists in press note

Bijapur / Jagdalpur, 06 April: The Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee of Naxalites on the encounter in the Tarrem police station area of โ€‹โ€‹the district, in a press note issued on Tuesday, acknowledged that the missing CoBRA battalion soldier Rakeshwar was in their captivity.

Killed Maoists in the ambush

In the press note, the Maoists have said that if the government announces the mediators, we will release the soldier.

Apart from this, the Maoists have confirmed the death of their four Naxalites, but the names of five Maoists killed in an ambush have been mentioned with photos.  

At the same time, the Naxalites have accepted the robbery of 14 weapons and 02 thousand cartridges from the soldiers and expressed regret to the martyred soldiers.

It is noteworthy that 22 soldiers were martyred in Tekulgudam in Bijapur district on April 03. The encounter between security forces and Naxalites lasted for four and a half hours. 30 injured soldiers have been rushed to the hospital, of which 13 are being treated in Raipur and 18 in Bijapur. Rakeshwar Singh, a jawan of the Cobra Battalion, is said to be missing.
