Mumbai, 9th November: Leader of Opposition in the Assembly and former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has accused Maharashtra’s Minorities Minister Nawab Malik of buying three acres of valuable land in Kurla from the accused in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts at a price.

Devendra Fadnavis said that he will send a complaint about this matter to the concerned department and to the President of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

Fadnavis said that Sardar Shahwali Khan is serving life imprisonment as an accused in the serial bomb blasts in Mumbai. In the same case, the driver of the absconding accused Dawood Ibrahim’s Sister Haseena Parkar, Salim Patel, was arrested under TADA. The three acres of land located on LBS Marg, Kurla, had been bought by the Minister Nawab Malik’s family from these two in 2005 for just Rs 30 lakh, whereas the actual cost of this land was Rs 3 crore.

โ€œNawab Malik has given only 20 lakh rupees in this deal. Minister Nawab Malik has been the operator of this company and the deal has been done with Faraj Malik, brother of Nawab Malik. Five similar properties have been bought by Nawab Malik’s company from the people of the underworld,โ€ Fadnavis alleged.

Devendra Fadnavis further said that the property of bomb blast accused and TADA accused is usually confiscated by the government but this land purchase deal was done by the family company of minister Nawab Malik to benefit the underworld. They are going to demand an inquiry by giving information about this matter to the concerned department. Along with this, he will also give all the information about the matter to the NCP President Sharad Pawar, so that he can know what kind of exploits his ministers are involved in.

Fadnavis said that he has no personal enmity with Nawab Malik, but giving benefit to the people who shed the blood of Mumbai people by blasting bombs in Mumbai is not only like playing with the security of the people of the country.

On the other hand, the Maharashtra’s Minorities Minister Nawab Malik clarified in the press conference on Tuesday that Devendra Fadnavis has levelled false and baseless allegations against him. He denied buying land from any of the accused in the Mumbai bombings and said he had no links with any underworld. Wherever Fadnavis wants to get this matter investigated, he is ready for any kind of investigation.
