New Delhi, March 31: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday emphasized on ‘Yoda-Nidra’ or yogic sleep by underlining its benefits that it keeps the body healthy and makes one stress-free. He said that he himself practices it once or twice a week.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared two videos of Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati’s ‘Yoga Nidra’ in Hindi and English today on Twitter, saying that, whenever I get time, I practice ‘Yoga Nidra’ 1-2 times a week. It keeps the body healthy and the mind happy, as well as reduces stress and anxiety. On the internet you will find many videos of Yoga Nidra, 1-1 video sharing in English and Hindi.

It is worth mentioning that earlier Narendra Modi on Monday in response to a question regarding the health routine during the lockdown shared his 3D animated videos with the public while practicing yoga.

However, he also appealed to the countrymen to share their health routine on social media under lockdown situation.

According to Yoga experts, yogic sleep is a kind of spiritual sleep. This leads to focus. It involves sleeping while awake. Actually, the state between sleep and waking has been called Yogic Nidra.

Yoga-Nidra can be done for 10 to 45 minutes. It is useful in blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, headache, tension, stomach wounds, asthma, neck pain, back pain, knees, joint pain, sciatica, insomnia, depression, and other psychological illnesses, informed Yoga experts.
