Lockdown Day 16: Spike in Corona cases in Uttar Pradesh, 50% cases link to Jamaatis

Lucknow, April 09: On Thursday, 67 new patients of fatal coronavirus were found in Uttar Pradesh.

In this way, the total number of infected people in the state has now increased to 410.

However, of these, 221 patients are associated with Tablighi Jamaat.

So far, 31 people have gone home completely healthy.

Though, total of four people have died of COVID-19 in the state.

State Principal Secretary Health Amit Mohan Prasad told here today that the infection of Corona has now reached 40 districts of the state.

He informed that now private hospitals in the state have also started being notified. Six hospitals have been notified so far.

Principal Secretary Health informed that Isolation Ward of 9442 beds have been prepared in the state so far. A total of 5334 people have been isolated. A total of 63855 people have been kept on surveillance in the state.

He informed that so far 31 people who were tested positive for coronavirus have been sent home after their recovery. These include eight from Agra, three from Ghaziabad, 12 from Noida, five from Lucknow, one each from Kanpur, Shamli and Pilibhit.

On Wednesday, four more Corona infected people were discharged from the hospital after they became healthy, Prasad told.

Prasad said that till now samples of 7451 COVID-19 suspects have been sent to the lab for examination. There have been negative reports of 6953 suspects in it. However, reports of 137 suspected are yet to come.
