Lockdown 2.O Day 7: Lok Sabha Secretariat employee found infected with coronavirus

New Delhi, April 21: An employee in the Lok Sabha Secretariat has been found infected with the coronavirus (Covid-19) diseases. However, an employee has been admitted to Safdarjung Hospital.

Deputy Director of Lok Sabha Welfare Department KP Balyan told that on Monday, Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital confirmed that Lok Sabha employee was infected with virus. After which, Balyan also examined all 11 members of this employee’s family.

Balyan further said that he has admitted the infected employee to Covid-19 department at Safdarjung Hospital this morning, where he is undergoing treatment.

He told that in fact, the health of this worker was bad a few days ago. After complaining of pain in the chest, He went to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where the doctors after getting the ECG and other necessary treatment done have sent him home. On Thursday, he complained of headache, fever. The family rushed to the hospital, where Corona was examined. However test report came on Monday in which it was confirmed to be infected with Corona.

“Earlier, a member of the sanitation worker’s family in Rashtrapati Bhavan was confirmed to be suffering from this highly contagious disease,” Balyan apprised.

It is noteworthy that the functioning of the Lok Sabha Secretariat has started from Monday. Only 33 percent of the employees in the Secretariat are being called to work. The Secretariat has issued a directive asking all employees, officers to follow the necessary guidelines along with social distancing. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla himself worked from office on Monday.
