Lockdown 2.O Day 11: Separate medical team to contain infection spread from hospitals in UP

Lucknow, April 25: After the number of coronavirus infected patients reached to 1504 on Saturday in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi government has now decided to form a separate team of doctors to check Covid-19 infection in hospitals as large number of corona infections spread through various hospitals.

However, this medical team will strictly follow the Universal Infection Prevention Protocol (UIPP).

According to the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, this dedicated team will work separately to prevent corona infection. This team in both government and private hospitals will ensure adherence to prevention protocol. In fact, corona infection has also spread through various hospitals in many districts of the state.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was very concern about about this development. A team is being formed under the leadership of Additional Chief Medical Officer. It will also include people from the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF.

Apart from this, there will also be members of Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board. This team will be formed by Sunday and will inspect hospitals.

Principal Secretary Health Amit Mohan Prasad said that the guidelines regarding infection prevention protocol in government hospitals should be fully followed, for which doctors and paramedical teams of government hospitals have already been trained.

β€œAt the same time, training on more than 2800 nodes has been done on the zoom platform for private hospitals. Now the committee constituted on the instructions of the Chief Minister will also follow the social distance and render training to hospitals in this regard. With this, all the hospitals will form their own committee, which will follow the infection prevention protocol,” added Prasad.

4115 sample tested in a day

Principal Secretary Health said that a total of 1778 cases have been reported so far. Of these, 248 patients have been recovered and sent back to their respective homes. At the same time, 26 people have died due to infection.

He said that 3719 samples were sent for examination on Friday, in which a total of 4115 samples were collected including backlog.

Now the number of corona-free districts is 10

Principal Secretary Health informed that at present, 10 districts are free from coronavirus infection. Earlier this number was 11. However, a case of corona infection has again come to light in Prayagraj district. At the same time, not a single positive case has been found from the beginning in 18 districts.

He informed that due to the awareness of the people, the percentage of corona infection of the elderly has also decreased. Earlier it was more than 10 percent, while now it is 7.93 percent.
