Lucknow: Kumar Keshav, Managing Director (MD) of the Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) on Saturday shared the two years of successfully running of Lucknow metro to the students of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lukncow.

On the invitation from the institute, Kumar Keshav imparted the importance of the discipline and time management to attain success in life to the students of the IIM.

He said that the success of any project lies in proper planning, time management, strict adherence to schedules and professional competence of the subject. “Discipline, Punctuality, Ethics and Integrity are the building blocks for success of any project. Adherence to these virtues laid the foundation stone for such a glorious achievement”, he added.

He informed, “ The hard work applied in the construction of the Lukcnow metro was very much appreciated in the program ‘National Day for Rail’ in Holland. Many people overseas don’t know that there is a city name Lucknow in India but now they know Lucknow just becuase of its metro which is the world’s fastest-built metro project. Completion of a huge project like Lucknow metro in a given timeframe is, nevertheless, an easy task”.

“It is only because of these virtues and sustained work round the clock that LMRC has been able to achieve this historical feat in less than three year. This has broken all the previous records of Metro Project execution, thereby, making the Lucknow Metro Rail Project the fastest ever Metro Project which has been made operational in just less than three year” he said.

Sharing his recent experiences, Kumar Keshav said that on the 150th birth anniversary of Gandhiji, Lucknow Metro had organized several programs in its staions. Meanwhile, a 24-hour water ATM was launched at Lekhraj metro station and an entire wall at the Secretariat metro station was dedicated to Bapu. Gandhi’s life journey is depicted in this wall through photographs.

Cleanliness campaign launched outside all metro stations

“The officers and employees of Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation today carried out a cleanliness drive outside and inside all the metro stations of the capital. During this time, all the officers and employees of Lucknow Metro gave their shramdaan. When the cleanliness drive was being carried out by the metro staff between Chaudhary Charan Singh to Munshi Pulia metro station of Lucknow Metro, the local people also got involved in cleaning work” he informed.

Managing director Kumar Keshav said that on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Lucknow Metro is now more committed than ever in the matter of cleanliness.
