Kesurua Kala villagers to boycott Lok Sabha polls

Lucknow: Residents of the Kesurua Kala gram sabha have decided not to cast their votes in the upcoming general elections in the wake of illegally possessing the land of gram sabha by a local muscleman and inaction by the city administration against him.

While the members of the All India Panchayat Parishad have come forward to support the locals of the gram sabha under Bahadurpur block in the Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh.

Gram pradhan of the Kesurua Kala village, Lakshi Chand Gupta alleged that a local muscleman Ram Vishal Singh who runs a school and wants to grab the gram sabha land has used foul words against him and his family and threnteneded to kill him.

State general secretary of the All India Panchayat Parishad while talking to the media persons said, “ We have informed the district administration umpteen times about this incident but all went in vain. When village head wanted to construct the road, he was being threatened. On the other hand, we have brought it into revenue department and district magistrate notice as well but to no avail.”

“Villagers have decided to boycott the Lok Sabha polls to register their protest against the apathy of the city administration”, alleged Lakshmi Chand Gupta, gram pardhan, Kesurua Kala.

Due to repeated threats, gram pardhan has demanded security from district administration.

An FIR has been lodged in this connection but no arrest has been made.
