South cinema’s prolific actor and filmmaker Rishab Shetty is once again in the headlines. His much-awaited film ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ has brought box office storm. Audiences have not only fallen in love with the film’s story and powerful visuals, but Rishabh’s intense performance has also enthralled everyone.
According to a report by Sacnilk, the film has earned โน55 crore on Saturday, joining the โน150 crore club. The total collection of ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ in India has reached โน162.85 crore. The film earned โน61.85 crore on the first day and โน46 crore on the second day. Made on a budget of just โน125 crore, the film recovered its cost and started turning a profit on its third day itself.
The film is a prequel to the 2022 blockbuster “Kantara,” which made cinematic history by grossing over โน400 crore globally at a budget of just โน15 crore. Rishab Shetty not only stars in “Kantara Chapter 1,” but also directs and co-produces it. The story is set in the fictional village of Kantara in Karnataka and its mysterious forests, offering a unique blend of Indian tradition, folklore, and culture. Gulshan Devaiah and Rukmini Vasanth also star in pivotal roles alongside Rishab Shetty.
“Kantara Chapter 1” has been released in seven languages: Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali, and English, allowing audiences both domestically and internationally to be a part of this divine journey. Most notably, following the film’s success, the makers have announced a third installment. The next chapter will be released as “Kantara Chapter 2,” and the story is said to be even more exciting.
