Jamia retains QS-World University Rankings, ranks 6th in Indian University

New Delhi, June 11: Jamia Millia Islamia has been ranked 6th as a comprehensive institution among Indian universities in the recently released London-based QS World University Rankings (QS-World)-2022.

The university has been ranked by QS since 2019 and has consistently ranked among the top 800 prestigious institutions in the world according to QS-World.

This year’s QS World University Rankings 2022 included 1,300 universities from around the world. Each institution is evaluated according to six key metrics. Institutions are classified by QS as Comprehensive plus, Comprehensive, Focused and Specialist – based on their focus area of โ€‹โ€‹teaching for the ranking.

Jamia is classified as a “comprehensive” institution, as the university offers education in a wide variety of academic disciplines.

35 institutes from India are included in the QS-2022 ranking. The QS ranking has placed Jamia at 751-800 in the world and 203 in Asia. It is ranked sixth among the universities of India as a comprehensive institution.

Recently, Jamia was ranked at 601-800 by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings- 2021 and at 180th in Asia Rankings. Jamia has been ranked 10th among the universities of the country in the NIRF 2020 ranking.
