Indigo flight delayed by 18 minutes due to sudden arrival of PM Modi in Lucknow

Lucknow, August 22: IndiGo’s Lucknow-Hyderabad flight 6E 876 was stopped from take-off in view of the arrival of the Prime Minister Modi in Lucknow to pay homage to the former CM of UP Kalyan Singh who died yesterday after prolonged illness in SGPGI.

However, it was only after the landing of the VVIP Air Force One plane carrying the Prime Minister that the IndiGo plane could take off for Hyderabad with a delay of 18 minutes.

The security of the Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow was suddenly beefed up as soon as the information about the arrival of the Prime Minister Modi was received to pay tribute to the former CM of UP and former Governor of Rajasthan Kalyan Singh.

According to airport officials, there is only one runway at Lucknow airport, so this flight had to be stopped.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Lucknow on Sunday to pay his last respects to the mortal remains of former Chief Minister Kalyan Singh.

PM Modiโ€™s special plane landed at the airport at 10:32 am. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Jagat Prakash Nadda also came along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a special Air Force aircraft. Prime Minister Narendra Modi stayed in Lucknow for only one hour and 53 minutes.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had reached the VIP hangar of the state government 20 minutes before to receive the Prime Minister. Governor Anandiben Patel’s convoy reached at 10.20 at the airport within minutes. After getting off the plane, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accepted the greetings of all and proceeded towards Kalyan Singh’s residence. There he stayed for 22 minutes. After this PM Modi reached back to the Amusi airport at 12.13 pm from where his plane took off for Delhi at 12.25 pm.
