Bengaluru, November 14: Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday said that if the Congress does not stick to its ideology, it will have no future.

He said this during an event organized by the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) on the occasion of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s birthday.

He also mocked Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President DK Shivakumar over his ‘superstition’.

It is worth noting that recently, Shivkumar’s choice of candidate for Rajarajeshwari Nagar assembly by-election was based on astrological advice.

He said that Pandit Nehru had no place for superstition. He believed in scientific thinking. So the country’s flag got the Ashoka Chakra, because it was Emperor Ashoka, who united the whole of India. We have to work together. The problem is that one person says one thing and the other says something else. We are not united.

He said that the BJP repeatedly attacked the Congress with the hope that it would create differences and misunderstandings between us.

He gave an example of how the BJP inferred that there were differences between Nehru and Sardar Patel. We have made it clear in Parliament.
