Kathmandu, Aug 31 : The Nepal Police has busted the bride trafficking gang and arrested 10 people in this case, including four Chinese citizens.

Four Chinese nationals have been arrested at Tribhuvan International Airport. Those arrested have been identified as Jane Xiangydon, Zhang Donghui, Quang Zhang Peng, Quin Liang who are residents of Hubei Province.

Senior Superintendent of Police Ishwar Babu Karki said, other Nepalis have been identified as Reena Tamang Bibi Ramani, Parbati Gurung, Amrita Gurung, Usha Ghimire, Rose Tamang, Bharat Tamang. He told that these people smuggled Nepali women and sent them to China as brides.

First we arrested two Chinese town people Quan and Quinn on Wednesday on suspicion from the Tribhuvan National Airport along with two Nepalese brides and found out about the racket in their conversation. We arrested eight others and rescued five victims.

Nepali smugglers who work for China, smuggling young women and women by luring them to get jobs in China. It is under the “practice of bride buying” and this practice is prevalent in China. The people of Nepal themselves sell their wife to China for a few cents.

Chinese people buy brides from Nepalese for a million rupees. These girls belong to illiterate and poor families. The women who are smuggled come from the districts of Kaski, Chitwan, Sunsari and Lam Jung. A Nepali has rented a house in Tokha where these girls are trained to be the right bride of Chinese citizens. They make  groom prepare to talk to his future brides on a video chat before preparing the documents for the fake bride.Police have seized 12 mobile phones, 2.2 million Nepalese rupees and other foreign currencies during this period.
