New Delhi/Chennai, Aug.31: The government’s decision of merging 10 public sector banks into major 4 ones have not been received well by the members of the All India Bank Employees’ Association.

They have protested against this decision of centre on Saturday. They put on black badges as protest symbol.  The Employees’ Union would meet on September 11 to decide further course of action.

The general secretary of All India Bank Employees’ Association, CH Venkatachalam has called this decision ‘ill timed’. He further added that this decision needed review as this move would result in closure of six banks. The Indian banking system was safe due to presence of public sector banks during recession of 2008.
