Himachal Pradesh: After major setback in bypolls, HP Govt reduces VAT on Petrol, Diesel further

Shimla, November 05: The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) government of Himachal Pradesh has also taken a major decision to further reduce Value Added Tax (VAT) on petrol and diesel on the lines of the Central Government.

However, now petrol will be cheaper by Rs 12 and diesel by Rs 17 per litre in the state.

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that this decision of the government will definitely bring great relief to the people of the state. Heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and congratulations to the public for this relief received on the auspicious occasion of Diwali.

A day before Diwali, the Central Government has made petrol 5 and diesel cheaper by 10 rupees.

Now the Himachal government has also made petrol Rs 12 cheaper and diesel by Rs 17 in the state by cutting its share of taxes.

The state government has issued a notification last night regarding the reduction in oil taxes.

Recently, by polls results announced in Himachal Pradesh in which stateโ€™s BJP government faced major embarrassment as its rival Congress party won all four seats including three Assembly and one Lok Sabha seats.
