Health Ministry to launch E-Pharmacy project within 100 days

New Delhi, 05 June: Ministry of Health is going to launch E pharmacy project within 100 days as per its agenda. The draft related to rules and regulations was issued by government. The officials from ministry will hold talks with healthcare key stakeholders to finalise the rules and regulations in next week. With these rules and regulations, governments registration will be needed to sell medicines on e-portals. The e-portalsย  will also need to maintain prions for verifying details of patients and doctors.

It is noteworthy that there are no clear regulations for online pharmacy in India, this project will provide much needed clarity. More than 7000 respondents have favoured the draft document after it was kept open in September for public comments. Various Startups like Netmeds, 1 mg and PharmEasy engaged in the online pharmacy appreciate this move by government.
