Gorakhpur murder case: UP Police increase bounty on absconding police officers to Rs 1 lakh

Kanpur, 09 October: In the case of death of Kanpur-based property dealer Manish Gupta in Gorakhpur, the amount of reward announced on the suspended and absconding policemen has been increased from 25 thousand to one lakh rupees each.

Also, keeping the identity of the informer confidential, the responsibility of his security has been taken by the Kanpur Commissionerate Police.

Meanwhile, efforts have intensified to nab all the suspended and absconding police personnel in connection with the death of property dealer Manish Gupta, resident of Barra police station area of โ€‹โ€‹Kanpur, in Gorakhpur hotel.

On Friday, a reward of 25-25 thousand was announced on all the police personnel. It has been increased to one lakh rupees each on Saturday. The photographs of all the accused police personnel have also been released by the police.

Along with declaring the photo and the amount of the reward, the police have taken full responsibility of keeping the identity of the person giving the information completely confidential and his security, the Commissionerate Kanpur Police has taken full responsibility.

A case was registered against all the police personnel under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code, offense number 391/21. All the six policemen are suspended and absconding in this case.
