Jhansi, August 14: A man named Jai Singh Thakur, resident of Jhansi district of Uttar Pradesh who was forcefully converted to Islam twenty years ago has become Hindu again on Saturday.

According to Singh, he was forced to convert into Islam on the pretext of money and job and his name was changed to Mohammad Javed.

Not only this, four years ago he was also married to a girl of Muslim family when he got tired of tolerating the burden of conversion, on Saturday, after meeting the people of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal, Jai Singh and his wife along with their three-year-old son embraced Hinduism again.

Jai Singh, a resident of Govind Chauraha, told that his father’s name is Nirmal Singh. It is alleged that a Muslim man living in the same area had forced him to convert to Islam. Now that person lives in Sipri Bazar police station area of โ€‹โ€‹the city. The person used to keep it with him and did all the household chores. He was not even allowed to go anywhere without his consent. He was also tortured if he made a mistake in his work. When his Aadhar card was made, Javed’s name was also written in it, while his father’s name was written as Nirmal Singh.

Four years ago he was married to Rukhsar, a resident of Govind Chauraha. He has a three-year-old son, who was named Jahangir.

Rukhsar, wife of Jai Singh Thakur told that she is converting on her own will without any pressure. Mother and brother in his family are aware of my conversion, they have no objection.

VHP leader Vinod Awasthi told that this man was very upset. If he expressed his desire to return to Hinduism, then today he has been made to return to his original religion after performing religious rituals.
